TRAINING PROGRAM
1 WebQuest as a means of implementing ICT and effective use of the Internet in education;
2. Cognitive characteristics of a good WebQuest
3. Procedure of building the main elements of Web Quest:
- Introduction orients students and captures their interest.
- Task describes the activity’s end product.
- Process explains strategies teacherss should use to complete the task.
- Resources are the Web sites teachers will use to complete the task.
- Evaluation measures the results of the activity.
- Conclusion sums up the activity and encourages teachers to reflect on its process and results.
4.The training program with ready-made, already developed Web Quests includes the following:
- – presentation of the Web Quest model to the teams
- – organising teams to work together
- – conducting the search for resources on the web
- – developing the structure of the site;
- – creating materials for the site;
- – formulating conclusions and applications
- – report, Power Point presentation
The learning materials and tools will be developed based on the WebQuest Classroom Lesson Guide (Activity 2 product) and toolkit. Each partner organisation can extend the content of the curricula and experiment with additional tools according to the decisions and experience of the teacher.

„ WEB QUEST “
STRUCTURE
THE MAIN OBJECTIVE of the training is to help teachers in vocational schools to use, develop and disseminate a new pedagogical approach in teaching to design and combine theoretical and technological knowledge – this is the WebQuest model – Inquiry-Based Process.
THE EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES ARE:
- Trained teachers to develop Web Quests as well as use from web ready Web Quests.
- The training is a foundation and prerequisite for complementing the passive and active learning model with the introduction of the interactive learning model.
- The training of teachers, forms new competencies in them and an opportunity to realize their creative potential.
- Trained and well-prepared teachers are able to organize learning in an interesting and attractive way, while forming the digital competences of learners.
- Web search learning is a convenient way to enhance learning activities and increase interest in a subject.
- The training shows educators how they can use Web Quests simply as a linguistic tool, but also how they can be interdisciplinary, allowing crossover to other departments and subject areas of education
- Trainings will help educators foster critical thinking skills in students including: comparing, classifying, inducing, inferring, analyzing errors, constructing support, abstracting, analyzing perspectives, etc. to solve the given learning task.
TRAINING TASKS
The training objectives are:
- To learn practical skills for developing Web Quests, as well as the use in the curricula of those already prepared.
- Encourage adaptability, creating authentic, applicable, relevant real-world learning tasks.
- Enhancing students’ linguistic knowledge.
- Teaching with interactive learning methods, using internet applications to improve students’ digital skills.
THEMATIC CONTENT OF TEACHING MATERIAL
The thematic content of the training includes:
- Web Quest Development Training,
- Training on working with ready-made, already developed Web Quests
ORGANISATION AND DELIVERY OF TRAINING
Distance training– Each instructor to be trained must have access to a coputer, use the ZOOM application, and have a copy of the WebQuest Guide. For WebQuest short-term curriculum training, this type of organization is preferred.
Face-to-face training – A classroom or computer lab where each instructor has access to a computer. Computers should be up-to-date and of sufficient performance to run courseware, databases, graphics applications and other IT-related applications. Operating system version – minimum – Windows 10. Have internet connectivity, Wi-Fi or wired network and all computers must have internet access for searching information, accessing cloud technologies and working in various online platforms. A fast and stable internet connection is key, especially if using cloud services or video conferencing systems. It is desirable to have a printer (colour or black and white) and scanner in the study room for printing and digitising documents and projects.
Recommended timetable for the delivery of the training programme:
First day – 3 hours of remote training on Web Quest development
Second day – 3 hours of distance training for working with ready, already developed Web Quests
Recommended training time – from 01 November 2024 to10 December 2024.
